Idlers are essential components of conveyor systems, serving to provide crucial support both to the conveyor structure itself and to the material being transported. In a typical conveyor setup, an endless belt runs continuously from the tail pulley, where material is initially loaded, to the head pulley or drive pulley, where the material is discharged.
Regardless of whether the distance between the tail and head pulleys spans several kilometers or only a few meters, both the carrying strand (which transports the material) and the return strand (which returns the belt to the tail pulley) are supported by multiple sets of idlers. These idlers consist of rollers designed to withstand the considerable weight of the loads they support.
Engineered with antifriction bearings, the rollers ensure smooth rotation and minimize wear and tear. These bearings are sealed to protect against contaminants and are adequately lubricated to maintain optimal performance and extend their operational lifespan.
As the conveyor belt moves, friction between the belt surface and the rollers facilitates the rotation of the idlers. This movement is fundamental to the efficient transfer of material from one point to another, making idlers a pivotal element in the functionality and efficiency of belt conveyor systems. Their design and maintenance are crucial to ensuring uninterrupted material handling processes in various industrial applications.

Carry Idlers / Rollers
The idler sets are essential components that provide support for the top conveyor belt, facilitating the loading and transportation of materials. Within the loading zone, we employ impact carrying idlers specifically designed to withstand heavy loads. These idlers are encased in a durable rubber material that effectively absorbs shocks and impacts at the points where material is loaded or transferred, thereby minimizing wear and prolonging the lifespan of the conveyor system.
In addition, our design includes self-aligning carrying idlers, which are crucial for maintaining the proper alignment of the conveyor belt. These idlers automatically adjust to shifts in the belt's position, reducing the risk of off-tracking and ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. This combination of impact and self-aligning idlers enhances the overall performance and reliability of the conveyor system in various material handling applications.
Carry idler sets are essential components of conveyor systems, usually consisting of two to five individual idler rolls securely mounted on a shared base. This base is then fixed to the conveyor framework, ensuring stability and proper alignment. Each idler roll in a set is equipped with its own distinct assembly of bearings, seals, a robust shaft, and an outer shell designed to withstand the operational stresses. The design of these sets allows for efficient load support, minimizing friction and wear, which ultimately enhances the overall performance and longevity of the conveyor system.
Return idler sets
The return idler sets play a crucial role in supporting the return-side (bottom) conveyor belt, which transports material back to the tail pulley after it has been discharged over the head pulley. These return idlers can be configured in several ways, one of the more common arrangements being the Garland type idlers, which consist of multiple idler rollers arranged in a staggered manner to enhance support and reduce belt wear.
Once the material has been discharged from the carrying belt, the return belt is meticulously guided back to the tail pulley using the return idlers. The system incorporates various types of idlers—impact, carrying, and return—that are strategically spaced at different intervals to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
On the carrying side of the conveyor, the combined weight of the belt and the load being transported is significantly greater than that of the return-side. As a result, it is essential to consider the tension in the conveyor belt, which is influenced not only by the weight of the materials but also by the settings of the take-up mechanism and the drive unit's parameters.
To maintain proper tension and operational integrity, the 'sag' in the belt between the carrying and return idler sets must be meticulously designed. This sagging must take into account the maximum load that the conveyor is expected to handle, ensuring reliable and efficient material transportation while minimizing wear and tear on the conveyor system.

Impact idlers are specialized components designed for the loading zones of conveyor belts, where the risk of belt damage is heightened due to the impact of falling materials and continuous operational stresses.
